ZIP BRAKE WITH ENERGY ABSORBER


FUNCTION OF THE DEVICE :

- The brake stops users at the end of a zipline. It can be used as the main brake or as the secondary brake.

INSTRUCTIONS :

- Do not brake with your hands
- Do not put your hands on the pulley.
- Put your hands on the lanyards.

Install the rope and the energy absorber (e) in the landing zone, ensure that the attachment point to the ground withstands at least 800 daN. You can use the plate (f) to help. The brake must be 1m from the arm. The height h1 must be based on the length on the lanyards, the type of harness and whether it is a main or secondary brake. For example: a sit harness with 60cm lanyards and a secondary brake, h1= 1.4m when the wire rope is free of a load (without a user) . In this case the part of the landing zone below the brake must serve as a shock absorber (shock absorbing material, padding....). The length l1 must be adapted to the speed and the users’ weight. Fit the foam buffer onto the brake tube and onto the vertical rope. Check that the brake slides smoothly on the wire rope.

INSTALLING :

- STEP #1: Dismantle one of the two half tubes on the front fitting
- STEP #2: Dismantle one of the two half tubes on the back fitting
- STEP #3: Fit the front-end half tubes and tighten the screws. Warning | The two half tubes have to be placed on the same side as the front brake fitting
- STEP #4: Fit the back-end half tubes and tighten the screws. Warning | The two half tubes have to be placed on the same side as the back brake fitting
- STEP #5: Check that the system slides smoothly on the wire rope
- STEP #6: Fit the foam protection onto the brake tube
- STEP #7: Fit the foam cover onto the brake tube
- STEP #8: Install the energy absorber and the vertical rope
- STEP #9: Set the zip brake 1.5m away from the zip wire arm
- STEP #10: Set the zip brake 1.5m away from the zip wire arm. Warning | Ensure that the attachment point to the ground withstands at least 800 daN
- STEP #11: Link the vertical rope to the attachment point
- STEP #12: Tighten the connectors. Warning | The connectors have to be tightened with a wrench
- STEP #13: Cover the attachment point with a shock absorbing material
- STEP #14: Install the foam protection onto the vertical rope

- The pneumatic brake stops users at the end of a zip line. It can be used as the main brake or as the backup brake.

INSTRUCTIONS :

- User’s maximum weight: 140 kg - 308 lbs - 22 stones
- Maximum speed: 35 km/h - 21,75 m/h.
- Do not brake with your hands.
- Pressure: 2 bars / 29 psi.                                    
- Do not put your hands on the pulley.
- Put your hands on the lanyards.


INSTALLING :

- STEP #1: Undo one of the two back plates
- STEP #2: Dismantle one of the two half tubes on the front fitting
- STEP #3: Fit the rear to the wire rope without tightening
- STEP #4: Fit the first front-end half tube and tighten the 2 screws. Warning | The two half tubes have to be placed on the same side as the front brake fitting
- STEP #5: Fit the second front-end half tube and tighten the 2 screws
- STEP #6: Tighten the rear fitting
- STEP #7: Check that the front part slides on the wire rope
- STEP #8: Check that the rear fitting is blocked and doesn’t move
- STEP #9: Inflate until the pressure gauge indicates 2 bars. Warning |  The brake will extend forwards : check that the front part of the brake still slides on the wire rope
